The Kings really just said, Hey LeBron, We’re Good: Ben Simmons is Here!

Ben Simmons literally went fishing for a year… and now he’s back in the NBA.
The Sacramento Kings just agreed to sign Simmons to a one-year, $3.5 million deal, meaning

we’re actually going to see Ben Simmons play basketball again.
And if you’re wondering where he’s been, Simmons hasn’t played an NBA game since 2025. After years of back problems, two surgeries and struggling to stay healthy, he decided to sit out the entire 2025-26 season and basically reset his body.

And like all other Sports GOATs, he spent that year playing a different sport, it wasn’t baseball but rather Fishing. Simmons bought an ownership stake in a professional fishing team called the South Florida Sails, and they actually won a tournament this year. So Simmons was actually good at his Sport unlike Michael Jordan.

Now he’s 30 years old, hopefully healthy, and getting another chance.

But don’t expect the old All-Star Ben Simmons immediately. Sacramento reportedly views him more as a veteran backup behind rookie Darius A-cuff Jr., where his passing, size and defense could still be useful.

In all seriousness. Memes aside I hope Ben does have a good bounce back on a Young Kings Team
